U.T.I. (untamed telescopic interface, duh...)

finals and an insatiable desire to soak up manhattan as much as possible in the next month have made blogging a little difficult. all apologies, clicksters.

Since I don't have time to give you anything real thick to hold onto of my own (seeing as i've been working on my writing portfolio night and day, and you babies can't read it until it's published) here are some works of others that i am passing along to you...

if you don't read postsecret, you should...
these were my favorites this week

In other news: this is now right now

Other places in the world, musicians I love are doing things I don't understand...
like Kele from blocparty's new electro solo album
oh and don't forget about M.I.A.'s new "punk rock" single
the video for which you can see here
(warning, not for the faint of heart.)

well that's it for today clicksters,
but baby'll be back asap to rub one out with you guys

Stranger Neighbor

The city opened up its mouth this weekend and I feel in.
Today I sorted out the aftermath. It looked like this
I really needed:
i'm drying out.
but at least this is coming soon at a beach house near you

This makes a lot of sense right now:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same, 10
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back. 15
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. 20
-Robert Frost

This doesn't:
(Karen Elson, fashion model and wife of Jack White's singing debut. The organ and the dress were good choices, however)

(you can see a more articulate review of this along with a couple other tasty new albums that i wrote a couple weeks ago HERE)

at least there's this for a rainy big city little little girl kinda day

sorry this evening isn't the most coherent of sorts,
but i figured i should give y'all something to look at.

Ethereal Ephemeral

It is going to be eighty degrees today, and after a morning of inspired writing,
my uncle's rooftop in midtown is calling me to sun, picnic, drink wine and read a good book.

Here's a few pictures and a great quote to give your day a lil spark if your weather isn't as nice as New York's right now.

I must learn to love the fool in me-the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries. It alone protects me against that utterly self-controlled masterful tyrant whom I also harbor and who would rob me of human aliveness, humility, and dignity but for my fool
